Day of the Dead 2012 Guided Tours
We are happy to announce that Day of the Dead guided tour reservations will open on August 1 at 9:00 a.m. Guided tours provide your group with an in-depth look at the traditions of Day of the Dead in Mexico and their contemporary interpretations.
Reservations: Reservations are required for all groups, including visiting groups. Only phone reservations are accepted. To make a reservation, please call 312-738-1503.
Guided Tour Dates: Guided tours will be available from September 15 to December 16.
Tour Length: Tours are 60 minutes long.
Tour Group Size: Tour groups have a capacity of 45 people per group. If your group is larger, you will be asked to break down your group into multiple smaller tours. Group minimum is 10 people.
Grade Levels: Guided tours are available for grades K-12. There must be at least one chaperone for every 10 students.
Cancellations: All cancellations must be made at least 2 weeks before your scheduled date. Any cancellations made after point that will be charged at full price.

Sat & Sun: 10am to 3pm

Folk Art Week (Oct. 12-21): Folk artists from Mexico will be on hand in the museum between the dates of Oct. 12-21. Students will be able to watch these artisans in action during this time at the end of their tour. Special tours and related activities taught by some of the artisans will also be available between the dates of Oct. 15-18. Please call 312-738-1503 for information on these workshops and pricing. These workshops will be subject to availability
Visiting Groups: All visiting groups (10 to 45 people) must register before coming to the exhibition. A suggested donation of $40 will be requested. Visiting is subject to availability to due the high volume of traffic during this time. If your group does not pre-register, it may be turned away from the exhibition. IMPORTANT: Parts of the museum will be under construction during this time which will highly limit bathroom access. We strongly suggest that you plan to have your group use the restrooms at your institution before or after your visit. You can also use bathrooms at the Harrison Park field house. Please notify us if someone in your party has a medical condition so we can accommodate them.
