Arte Ambulante, or traveling art, brings Mexican art and culture into a classroom, organization or community. Arte Ambulante workshops consist of a slide lecture followed by an art activity. Art projects are designed for all ages and usually last about one hour. Workshop fees range from $300 to $400 per group (no more than 30 participants), depending on complexity of project, and include all art materials and additional teacher resources. Workshops may be tailored for larger audiences or lecture presentations. If grant support is available, a sliding scale may be applied based on school need.

Customize Your Workshop!
Educators or coordinators may design a customized one-session or multi-session art workshop to meet their participants' needs. Classroom teachers and museum educators can together integrate and align an art and culture activity into an existing language arts or social science unit. To make such arrangements, please call a museum educator at least three weeks in advance.
Museum educators can bring slide presentations to you classroom or organization to introduce a specific cultural topic, offer an in-depth look into history or learn about an artistic concept. These lectures are oriented for adult audiences and not recommended for school assemblies. Lecture presentations cost $150. To make arrangements for a customized presentation, please call a museum educator at least three weeks in advance. Popular presentations have included: Day of the Dead, African Presence in Mexico, Mexican Muralists, Women Artist of Mexico, General History of Mexico, History of Cinco de Mayo and Mexicano Immigration in Chicago
