Sor Juana Women of Legacy

In order to recognize and honor women worldwide for their
outstanding civic, social, artistic and lifetime contributions, the National Museum of Mexican Art has
 established three annual awards:

Sor Juana Women of Achievement

This award honors local women of Mexican descent who have contributed to our community through the arts, academia,
civic leadership, volunteer work or professional leadership.

Sor Juana Honoree
This award is given to a non-Mexican woman whose outstanding
contributions to society exemplify and honor the beliefs, leadership and
spirit of Sor Juana Inés de la Crúz.

Sor Juana Legacy

This award honors a woman of Mexican descent whose outstanding
lifetime contributions to the arts and/or academia exemplify and continue to
honor the legacy of Sor Juana Inés de la Crúz.
