Brief Description: Visit the Galería Sin Fronteras exhibition with one of our docents who will discuss highlighted artworks and their relationship to the socio-political struggles of Chicanos and Mexican-Americans.

Brief Description: Guided tours are available for the Mexicanidad permanent exhibition and the Galería Sin Fronteras exhibition. Docents will lead your group in a discussion highlighted artworks and their relationship to the socio-political struggles of Chicanos and Mexican-Americans. Title: Tour Plus Activity

Dates: Tuesday’s, Wednesday’s, and Thursday’s 10am or 12pm

Ages/Audience: All Ages/All Audiences

Brief Description: Tour Plus Activity is a program designed for schools groups to enhance their museum experience. We offer a docent lead tour followed by creating an hands-on art activity with one of our Museum educators. Classes are offered in English or in Spanish; space is limited to a maximum of 30 participants per groups. Fees vary per art activity. Title: Grabados: Printmaking Workshop

Date: Friday February 7, 2014; 6pm – 8pm

Program: Saturday Children’s Art Classes

Title: Painting Superheroes

Date: Saturday’s March 1st – 22nd, 2014; 10am – 12pm

Ages/Audience: 7–12 year olds

Cost/Donation: $50/child

Brief Description: What are the qualities of a superhero? Students will discuss the everyday people that surround them, learn about artworks from our current Galería Sin Fronteras exhibition, and create a superhero version of themselves or someone they know. Program: Adult Art Class

Title: Reduction Prints

Date: Saturday’s March 29th  –April 26th, 2014; 11am – 2pm

Ages/Audience: Adults; 18 & over

Cost/Donation: $80/person

Brief Description: Create a multiple color print, by just using one block. This class will explore relief printmaking by creating a print through a reduction process. Title: Patssi Valdez Collage Painting

Brief Description: Families will work together to create a 2D room inspired by Patssi Valdez.  Recreate your favorite room with an important memory or make an imaginary room using many different materials to create a mixed media painting. Brief Description: Join us for this special educator's evening to view the Galería Sin Fronteras exhibition, enjoy light refreshments, and learn about all of our educational programs and resources. Title: Mexican Icon Mixed Media Portrait

Date:  Sunday May 4, 2014

Brief Description: Families will work together to create a mixed media portrait inspired by a Mexican icon, looking to Alfredo Arreguin’s vibrant interpretation of Frida Kahlo in his portrait of the famed artist.
