The Science of Natural pigments with artist Jacobo Angeles

This workshop, designed for late elementary and middle school teachers will explore the intergration of Mexican folk art into the science curriculum. Special guest artist, Jacobo Angeles, will give an interactive demonstration. Teachers will recieve a multi-disciplinary lesson plan correlated to the ISBE Science standards.

DAY OF THE DEAD FOOD SERIES: Atole vs. Champurrado

Two of the most popular items in Day of the Dead ofrendas are atole and champurrado. Both drinks have a rich history in Mexican culture, yet few know the difference between the two. Come and learn how to make these tasty drinks in an interactive presentation and sample different atoles and champurrados from different parts of Mexico. Each participant will recieve a special do-it-yourself kit.
