We would like to invite you to celebrate and support the National Museum of Mexican Art (NMMA) as we present our extraordinary educational, visual, and performing arts programs. In 2008, with the generous support of our corporate co-chairs, Harris Bank and Wal-Mart, the Cinco de Mayo Gala promises to be a night to remember! We are pleased to announce that the 2008 Art Velasquez Corporate Service Award will be presented to Mr. Frank Clark, CEO of ComEd.
Our vision is nothing less than to make the NMMA and Chicago the focal point for Mexican culture in the U.S. The Cinco de Mayo Gala is the centerpiece of our fundraising events for the year. The Gala has become the most prestigious annual event for Chicago’s Mexican community. It is a splendid evening of entertainment, food and fashion, and the place to be seen in Chicago! This year’s Gala raised more than $397,000 for the Museum’s youth education programs. The Cinco de Mayo Gala also helps build the Museum’s Permanent Collection through a special “Fund-A-Cause” reverse auction where funds are raised to acquire an important new work of art for the Museum
