The 2007 Sor Juana Festival will kick-off with a very special
performance by one of Mexico's most acclaimed actresses,
Diana Bracho. Her film career spans 35 years and includes over
40 films in leading roles with many of Mexico's most distinguished
directors. Her television work, which includes three of the most
watched Mexican soap operas in history, has been aired in nearly
100 countries.

In 1998, the National Museum of Mexican Art initiated the Sor
Juana Achievement Awards commending Mexican women leaders
of Chicago. This year we continue the tradition and pay tribute
to six Chicago Mexican women who exemplify the legacy of Sor
Juana Inés de la Cruz
