Born in Mexico City, vocalist and composer, Magos
Herrera, possesses one of the most beautiful voices of the
Mexican contemporary jazz music scene and is well known
for her unique sound that elegantly blends jazz with
Brazilian and Latin rhythms. Magos Herrera's career
has led to her to performances all over Mexico, India,
Washington, D.C., New York City, Houston and now
Chicago.

 


 

Ozomatli was formed in Los Angeles in the mid 1990s and has become know for their unique
sounds brewing a vital concoction of Latin Salsa, urban hip-hop and jazz-fun. As Los Angeles'
favorite sons, Ozomatli presents a message of global unity representing their hometown's
cultural diversity and political struggles. Their eclectic hybrid of sound defies musical
categorization and is defined by its members as "the people's music"
